Calvin has gone Nuclear!

This image was too good not to share.
Thanks to Calvin for posting it and providing his own commentary!

Calvin really laid into the poor folks who had the bad luck to be in office of late.

A couple of stiff-necked (Feynman or Oppy's words) hecklers tried to suggest his talk was "treasonous" and got bitch-slapped with their own hankies by a whole cadre of folks coming to his defense.

And before any of you wing-nuts (knee-jerk conservatives) take me on in the comment section, I want it clear that I am NOT a "liberal democrat" and am very patriotic.

But that doesn't mean I'm above kicking the chair out from under people who are tearing our country (or community or laboratory) down from the presumed safety of an elected or appointed office of the government or the board of a privately held corporation holding huge no-bid and hardly-bid contracts (LANS?) with the government.

Protecting my country from those who are trying to destroy it for their own greed and profit is not treason.

If the young man giving Uncle Sam the finger here is pissed (like Calvin) it is because of what some pretty immoral people (supported ironically by the "moral majority") have done to their generation. The chickens are starting to come home to roost. Go figure.

Are you (and Calvin) saying that our problems here at LANL are somehow the consequence of, or strongly correlated with our current administration and the war in Iraq?

Are you and Calvin (and Pinko) trying to suggest that large (privately held ) corporations like Bechtel are *inherently* unfit for managing our nuclear complex?

Are you trying to say that there are dark forces at work hidden only barely below the surface?

Excuse me? Doesn't a corporation owe something to its customers? Quality goods and services, for example? Or is Bechtel following the Mafia model: Take the taxpayers' money and give them the finger (glossy brochures and self-serving memos) in return?

Maybe "treason" is too strong a word for the timid.

So why is anyone with a contrary opinion a "troll?"

What a bunch of hypocrites.

Nice to see Calvin and Doc cross pollinating one another's blogs with a bunch of stupid BS, er, I mean humor.

Why don't we crack open some great material from moveon.org and peta.org while we are at it? I'm sure we can weave BS from there into the BS here and form some really intricate, and humorous, conspiracy theories.

I think you probably mean POGO.org, not PETA.org.

Sorry you don't like hearing about just how fucked up things are, and how much "the man" is, in fact, implicated.

I voted for one of those Republican bastards once because I believed in the principles he was speaking to, but when I saw how little his actual behaviour had to do with his "story" I began to see them in a new light. I haven't made that mistake again.

Sadly, their Democratic counterparts were little better.

Now we have one of the most incompetent and least ethical crew of losers in power in this government in all of history and you try to call it "conspiracy theory".

If you believe that it is a coincidence that one of the largest privately held defense-contractors is now running the two nuclear design labs, you are either part of the "conspiracy" or you are more incompetent than most.
