Thanks P&tB... but no promises, this feels more like a Tourettes' Riff than an actual resurgence... but you never know!
The impending RIF at LANL has my attention. This is the 3rd in 3 decades I've been through and it gets uglier with each round. Even though I'm pretty well funded (and in demand) under a variety of non-weapons WFO programs, I don't feel real secure from the vagaries of management falderal, nor do I look forward to watching my colleagues, friends and neighbors get ousted.
I'm not tracking closely enough yet to know, but it seems like 2500 employees is like 1/4 of the Technical Staff?
Nanos had us counting off "Butthead!", "Cowboy!", "Butthead!", ... etc. to decide which we were.
Anastasio now has us counting off "1!", "2!", "3!", "4!" and then roll a 4 sided die or flip a 4 sided coin (a quantum coin of course) or spin a 4-chambered revolver to decide who gets to pack up their unmarketable house and move to the big city to find work.
Thanks for the good words... and by the way, thanks to you and Finknottle for keeping the spirit alive.
A NUCLEAR BOMB NEEDS A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF ROTATIONS WHILE COMMINGBACK INTO THE ATMOSPHERE TO DETONATE AND THE TYPE OF BOMBS THAT WERE CARRIED ON THE MISSING B52 WERE BOMBS THAT TAKE HIGHER APPROVAL TO MAKE ANY CATASTROPHIC EVENT POSSIBLE SO SORRY ABOUT THE PROBLEMS AND WORRIES WE ARE SORRY THANKS AND HAVE A WONDERFUL AIR FORCE DAY
Wow anonymous 2:21... that was just about the most bizarre comment I've seen.
I don't quite know what "coming back into the atmosphere" has to do with nuclear-armed cruise-missiles strapped to a B-52.
And I can't guess what the "certain number of rotations" is about unless it is some strange urban legend suggesting that ICBMs have some kind of safety based on rotation count...
Well, these blogs do call in the crazies don't they?
I found this site using google.com And i want to thank you for your work. You have done really very good site. Great work, great site! Thank you!

Doc is back?
I am so disappointed. I was so much happier when he wasn't posting.
I have just been sitting here every day checking his blog to make sure he is not posting and today he ruined my whole weekend.
Damn!
Me too (disappointed)!
I sit here all day waiting for Strangelove to continue to not-post so I can feel smug and superior at my diligence.
I was never interested in what he had to say anyway.
And now, who cares about stupid Air Force SNAFUs? There was never any danger anyway.
Welcome back, Doc!

Cute... I just listened to the Welcome Back link... it almost went right past me..
I'd never listened to the words before, too apropos of the moment.

The Rest of the Story isn't going away but we did get a little lonely for the past few weeks. Good to see you back!
